Ross First in Line as US Endurance Chef
By Paula Parisi June 24, 2011Emmett Ross has been formally recommended to be the Endurance Chef d’ Equipe for the United States Equestrian Federation. The announcement was made June 24 by the group’s Endurance Eligible Athlete Committee and Endurance High Performance Committee.
Ross, currently working at a personal training facility in Texas, has been involved in every aspect of endurance – as a competitor, event manager, trainer and buyer and seller of horses. He was endurance manager for the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games.
His credentials as a competitor include three Top 10 finishes in the Tevis Cup competition. He was also a gold medal team member at the first North American Endurance Championships. His management experience includes race director for two National Ride & Tie Championships as and the 7,000 person Manhattan Beach 10k FEI performance/training marathon.
“He understands the terrain of both the course the riders compete over and the landscape of the job,” commented media consultant Diana De Rosa, who has interviewed Ross extensively.
The recommendation will go to the USEF High Performance Working Group before being presented to the USEF Executive Committee.
