Le Fash shirts come in a variety of feminine plaids and make a statement on horseback or city streets. Available at LA Saddlery.

Owning your own tack store definitely has some perks, but it also means that everyone and their second cousin twice removed will want to show you their version of the next best horse treat, riding jacket or breech to hit the market. However, since LA Saddlery is a small business, we believe it’s extremely important to stay open minded towards new and innovative products that will continue to enhance the sport and challenge customers to evolve their riding wardrobes.  So, in honor of the upcoming heat we will be enjoying for the next few months, here are just a few of the hottest items to hit the Equestrian fashion world.

Le Fash Show Shirts

One of our favorite new shirts to hit the equestrian scene is from an up-and-coming company, Le Fash. There are three reasons we absolutely adore these shirts. First, they are different. We are a bit bored of the boxy Coolmax fabrics, in white, light blue, and lavender. The Le Fash line comes in striking plaids and feminine stripes, and contrasting stretchy side panels make this shirt look fabulous with or without your coat.  Second, they are not only “Made in the USA” (yeah!) they are made with 100% Egyptian cotton and the side panels are made from  93% Rayon-bamboo and 7% Spandex, which makes this shirt soft, light, breathable and form fitting as well as stretchy and environmentally friendly.  Finally, and most importantly, these shirts epitomize the “equestrian look.” You could definitely go out bowling in a Le Fash shirt with a cute pair of boot-cut jeans, or with skinny jeans and your favorite boots for a night out. In a nutshell, every woman should treat their bodies to one of these body flattering and chic shirts, whether you are in the show or cheering someone from the sidelines!

Lo-Ride Breeches

The reason there are so many breeches on the market today is because riders come in all shapes and sizes, making it extremely hard to find the perfect cut, rise, and fabric that works for your body type. That is why we are always open to bringing in new lines to try with our customers.  Founded right here in Southern California in 2010, Lo-Ride Equestrian Wear  just launched its new line of breeches and riding shirts. What we love about the breeches is they are lower in front for a comfortable fit, but give ample posterior coverage in the saddle. The classic tan breeches are reminiscent of the original Harry Hall breeches we remember wearing as kids. While the overall look of the breech has a timeless feel ― the ultra-suede piping details, Velcro-free ankle, Schoeller Prestige fabric and Euro-seat all make this a modern and fashion-forward breech.  Don’t be fooled by the name though, these are not Justin Bieber pull-your-pants-up low; the Lo actually stands for the Hungarian word for horse!

Tucci Time Collection

Tucci Harlow boot

Tucci Show Time boot: Harlow

Those who have been fortunate enough to experience Tucci custom boots can attest to their master craftsmanship, impeccable style details and overall comfortable fit. Custom out of your price range? And you are tired of your current tall boots? You are in luck! In 2012 the Tucci Time Collection debuted, with fantastic, off-the-rack options in field, dress and jumper boots (in addition to paddock boots and half chaps).

Because you are still getting top of the line Italian leather and hands on design, they are costlier than most commercial boots, but much more affordable than custom, and they will outlast most other mass-distributed boots. Our personal favorite is the Harley boot, which is elegantly cool and honestly makes you feel like you are walking on pillows!
