Taking the Reins helps under-served young women.

Taking the Reins a non-profit equestrian program in Los Angeles that helps at-risk young women, hosts its annual Horse & Harvest Festival 2015, honoring the Los Angeles Police Department’s Mounted Unit. The event takes place Nov. 8, 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the group’s headquarters, 3919 Rigali Ave, Los Angeles. In addition to food, fun, music and horses, the Fest will feature live performances from folk rock group The Other Words, psychedelic guitarist Jesse Cross, and international music sensation Kathryn Dean.

Taking the Reins is a Los Angeles-based non-profit organization run by Dr. Jane Haven, utilizing equestrian and urban farming programs to help under-served girls and women living in high-risk environments.  The four pillars of the program are responsibility, confidence, teamwork and leadership.  We invite the community to come see the horses and find out more about the organization.

Tickets to the Horse & Harvest are $50 for adults and $20 for children (6-18).  To purchase tickets, visit Taking the Reins, for sponsorship information, click here. Or phone (323) 906-1560 for more information.
