‘Best of America by Horseback’ Rides into Norco
By Kelly Sanchez March 1, 2011Trail fans are invited to join the “Best of America by Horseback” cast as they film an episode for RFD-TV in Norco, aka “Horsetown USA,” May 6–8.
There’ll be three days of riding through the Hidden Valley Wildlife Preserve, past the historic Lake Norconian and Norconian Hotel, and over the scenic hills of western Riverside County with knowledgeable guides to share the history and tales of the town. Riders and horses will enjoy snack breaks along the way provided by Norco’s own Inland Vet Supply.
Back at base camp, riders can challenge their horses with an obstacle course, courtesy of the Back Country Horsemen’s Santa Ana River Unit, continue their equine education with clinics by mule master Steve Edwards and Precision Bit developer Dave Robart or have their picture taken with the Wells Fargo stagecoach.
Entertainment continues with a formal banquet on Saturday evening, followed by a private concert with Paul Justin and the Saloonatixx. Cowboy Church with Del Shields and Steve Edwards will be held Sunday morning, followed by a pancake breakfast.
Shuttles will provide transportation for guests to attend the Best of America by Horseback cast autograph signing and photo shoot at the Boot Barn, a pinchless bit demonstration by Dave Robart at Thrifty Horse and Old Town Norco’s equine-related businesses.
