Antwerp Added to GCT

The bejeweled city of Antwerp, Belgium, joins the Longines Global Champions Tour circuit for 2014.

The Longines Global Champions Tour has added the “diamond city” of Antwerp, Belgium, to the 2014 circuit.

Antwerp will welcome the world’s Top 30 riders for several days of top-level GCT competition, with details to be revealed at an Oct. 1 press conference at the MAS” Museum in Antwerp.

The 2013 Longines GCT heads for its 11th leg in Vienna as it winds to the championship finale in Doha, Qatar, November 21-23. Top competition combined with the biggest prize offerings in the sport are hallmarks of this prestigious European circuit, created in 2006 by Dutch Olympic gold medallist Jan Tops (NED).

The 2013 tour includes 12 locations, and the glittering Antwerp joins a roster that already includes Chantilly, Monte-Carlo, Hamburg, Cannes, Madrid, London, Valkenswaard and Estoril.

“We look forward to  our first-ever event in this special city as part of our prestigious championship series,” Longines Global Champions Tour President Jan Tops said.
