The Sacramento International Horse Show started off with a bang, as Eduardo Menezes and Caruschka won the $25,000 Jumper Classic. The week of competitive classes features world class riders such as Richard Spooner, Will Simpson, Quentin Judge, Mandy Porter, Eric Navet, Jill Humphrey and Ben Asselin, to name a few.

“The eighth anniversary of the Sacramento International Horse Show is going to be the best it has ever been,” said Dale Harvey of West Palms Events. “We have an incredible field of athletes participating in the Longines FEI World Cup Jumping North American League and we just can’t wait to see them compete.”

Menezes and Carushka had a zippy jump off time of 40.436. You can watch their final round here. There were 53 entries in the class, in which Menezes himself rode four different horses. A partner (with Enrique Gonzalez) in the San Diego-based E2 Stables, Menezes rides internationally for Brazil. Riding Quintol, he finished ninth at the Pan Am Games in July.
