USEF’s first ranked Olympic Show Jumping Long List

Following the conclusion of the USEF Olympic Selection Trials for the U.S. Show Jumping Team, the United States Equestrian Federation  has released the following ranked athlete/horse combinations to the USEF Long List for the U.S. Show Jumping Team for the 2012 Olympic Games.

In addition to the 20 who made it through all four rounds of the first qualifier at WEF, March 21-24, the USEF added 10 names from the original list of 37 starters and four new combinations that submitted Olympic team applications but did not contest the trials at WEF: Ashlee Bond/Cadett 7;  Cara Anthony/Woodpecker De Villars; Mario Deslauriers/Cella; Charlie Jayne/Chill RZ.

They join the four previously announced discretionary choices:  McLain Ward and Sapphire, McLain Ward and Antares F; Beezie Madden and Coral Reef Via Volo; and Laura Kraut and Cedric.

Per the USEF Selection Procedures, in order to remain in consideration for the U.S. Olympic Show Jumping Team, each athlete/horse combination is  required to compete at two of the upcoming  Observation Events listed below:

Following the completion of these observation events, FEI Nominated Entries will be submitted to the FEI on June 17. Twelve athlete/horse combinations can be named to the FEI Nominated Entries. The USOC Final Entries will be submitted no later than July 6, 2012.

The 2012 Olympic Games will take place July 27 – August 12.
