There is a USEF Open Forum meeting March 28 moderated by USEF president David O’Connor, addressing “The Status of Show Jumping in the United States.” The meeting will be held in San Juan Capistrano at the Blenheim Equisports Spring Classic.

This is a rare opportunity for Southern California riders to get face time with top USEF officials, including show jumping manager Sally Ike and director of high performance programs Lizzy Chesson. Among the most pressing concerns on the minds of West Coast jumpers are changes to the World Cup qualifier schedule in the FEI’s North American Western League.

However, Blenheim Equisports president and incoming U.S. show jumping chef d’equipe Robert Ridland stresses that this meeting is not just for high-performance riders, but for “riders at every level.” Ridland said a similar meeting on the East Coast was very well-attended and he is hoping the West Coast will make a strong showing too.

The meeting will be held at 4. p.m. in the Medal Club, at the Mission Viejo Riding Park, 30753 La Pata Road, San Juan Capistrano, CA 92675; Wed. March 28.  To see tomorrow’s schedule for the Blenheim Spring Classic, click here. Phone 949-234-1696 for more information.
