USEF sets YR Euro Tour

The USEF has named the following athletes to the 2012 Show Jumping European Young Rider  and Junior Rider Tour. Two west coast riders-Annie Laurie Cook (Woodside, CA) and Navona Gallegos (Santa Fe, NM)-made the cut to compete  at the following prestigious shows:

CSIOYJ Bonheiden (BEL): May 17-20

CSIOYJ Reims (FRA): May 31-June 3

CSIOYJ Hagen (GER): June 13-17

In addition to Cook (younger sister of Karl Cook, who is currently competing in the USEF Olympic Trials and trains with Butch and Lu Thomas, and Gallegos, who trained for many years with Karen Healey,  the complete list of participants is as follows:

Annie Cook (Woodside, CA) on Signe Ostby’s Banba and Landkorn 5

Banba is an 11-year-old Irish Sport Horse mare

Landkorn 5 is a 12-year-old Mecklenburger gelding

Navona Gallegos (Santa Fe, NM) on Bar X Ranch LLC’s No Fear and Vatricia

No Fear is an 11-year-old Hanoverian gelding

Vatricia is 10-year-old KWPN mare

Jennifer Goddard (Fort Salonga, NY) on Stateside Farm LLC’s Unique and Winner

Unique is an 11-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding

Winner is 9-year-old KWPN gelding

Alise Oken (Charlotte, NC) on Hi Hopes Farm LLC’s Canecko Z and Kaid Du Ry

Canecko Z is a 12-year-old Zangersheide gelding

Kaid Du Ry is a 14-year-old Selle Francais gelding

Lydia Ulrich (Rochester, NY) on Beth Congel and Up The Creek Farm’s Santos Utopia

Santos Utopia is a 13-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding

Chloe Reid (Washington, DC) on Chloe D Reid LLC’s King of Hearts, Quebon and Toulon

King of Hearts is a 9-year-old KWPN gelding

Quebon is a 12-year-old Oldenburg gelding

Toulon is a 12-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding

Sydney Shulman (Greenwhich, CT) on Back Country Farm’s Fit 3 and Gun du Desfi and John Madden Sales Inc’s Little Lady D’Elle

Fit 3 is a 17-year-old Hanoverian gelding

Gun du Desfi is an 18-year-old Selle Francais gelding

Little Lady D’Elle is a 13 year-old Selle Francais mare

The combinations were selected based on the criteria outlined in the Selection Procedures for the 2012 Show Jumping Young Rider and Junior Rider Tour. The Selection Procedures can be found here:
